Implementing a consistent quality assessment system across all developments is one of the most effective ways for international developers to safeguard workmanship standards across borders. Ascendas-Singbridge, one of Asia's leading business space and real estate developers, engaged BuildQAS to train contractors and on-site personnel from their Bangalore, India projects.

The challenge was clear: international contractors often struggle to understand the precise requirements set out in quality specifications, particularly when those standards are benchmarked against Singapore's rigorous Building and Construction Authority (BCA) framework.

BuildQAS designed and delivered a specialised combined theoretical and hands-on training programme over two days — 18 and 19 July 2018 — in Bangalore. The programme was delivered in partnership with L&W Construction, a respected Singapore contractor widely recognised for top-tier workmanship quality.

What the training covered:

The sessions gave contractors and local project personnel a clear, practical understanding of key requirements and functional testing procedures. These included internal finishing standards, workmanship tolerances, water-tightness testing, and the critical quality checkpoints that directly affect BuildQAS assessment scores.

By bridging the gap between specification language and on-the-ground practice, BuildQAS helped teams understand not just what the standards require, but why those requirements matter to end-users and developers alike.
