Kerjaya Prospek Construction Quality Training — Malaysia-Wide Programme (May–June 2018)
BuildQAS delivered a four-day construction quality training programme for Kerjaya Prospek teams across Melaka, Johor, and Kuala Lumpur, benchmarking their practices against Singapore's industry standards. Rated 4.5 out of 5.

Kerjaya Prospek Group Berhad is one of Malaysia's largest builders and an increasingly prominent property developer. With projects spanning Melaka, Johor, and Kuala Lumpur, the company recognised that standardising construction quality practices across all sites — and aligning them with industry best practices using Singapore as the regional benchmark — was essential to sustaining their growth and reputation.
Mr Tee Eng Tiong, Project Director at Kerjaya Prospek, engaged BuildQAS to design and deliver a comprehensive Construction Quality Practices training programme for personnel across all three states.
Programme leader:
The four-day training was led by Mr Jerry Lam, BuildQAS Technical Advisor and former Senior QAQC Manager at Woh Hup (Private) Limited. Woh Hup has been consistently recognised by Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA) as one of the top-rated contractors for quality — making Mr Lam ideally positioned to translate Singapore's highest construction standards into practical, actionable guidance for the Kerjaya Prospek team.
What was covered:
The curriculum focused on both theoretical grounding and practical application:
- Industry best practices in construction quality — with Singapore CONQUAS as the benchmark - Evaluation of Kerjaya Prospek's existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against industry standards - Identification of gaps between current practices and best-in-class workmanship - Recommendations for SOP updates as part of the company's Continual Improvement process - Hands-on assessment techniques for internal finishes, wet areas, and facades
Outcome:
Participants from Melaka, Johor, and Kuala Lumpur rated the training 4.5 out of 5 — one of the highest ratings BuildQAS has received for a training engagement. The programme resulted in concrete SOP updates for Kerjaya Prospek, with the company committing to incorporate the BuildQAS quality benchmarks into their ongoing Continual Improvement processes across all project sites.
