Grand Dynamic Builders Engages BuildQAS for Quality Assessments at KL Eco City, Westside III & Etiqa Tower

Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd (GDB), one of Malaysia's leading construction firms, engaged BuildQAS Consulting from October 2017 to conduct quality assessments across three of their active projects in Kuala Lumpur. This engagement marked a significant step for GDB in formalising their commitment to third-party quality benchmarking.

Projects assessed:

- KL Eco City Office Tower 3 — A formal BuildQAS quality assessment of the completed development - Westside III, Desa ParkCity — A trial assessment to benchmark workmanship standards and identify areas for improvement - ETIQA Office Tower, Bangsar — A trial assessment conducted to prepare the project team and subcontractors for final quality standards

Why GDB chose BuildQAS:

Grand Dynamic Builders adopted BuildQAS to achieve two specific objectives: first, to establish clear, objective benchmarks for building quality across their project portfolio; and second, to fulfil ISO quality management objectives — ensuring that their quality assurance processes met internationally recognised standards.

Following the initial trial assessment at Westside III, notable improvements in the project's quality management processes became evident. By exposing subcontractors and site teams to the BuildQAS assessment criteria early, GDB was able to course-correct workmanship issues before they became entrenched — a far more cost-effective approach than defect rectification after handover.

Unlike internal QAQC processes, BuildQAS assessments are conducted by qualified third-party assessors — many of whom are former BCA inspection officers — ensuring impartiality and credibility.
